Essentially, the Cardiac Arrhythmia Research Package (CARP) is a multi-purpose bidomain simulator. CARP consists of several sub-packages which are dedicated to specific tasks like bidomain (computational core), IMP (ionic model library), visualization of structured (Flounder) and unstrctured grids (Meshalyzer).
CARP can be compiled to run in both shared memory and distributed memory environments. CARP has been tested with up to 256 CPU's (HPC x Super-computing Facilities provided by the Integrative Biology Project) with up to several millions of unknowns.
